Visionael Expands Global Sales and Marketing Initiatives With Three Key Executive Additions and New Board of Directors Appointment

Pedigrees in enterprise and carrier network solutions to accelerate Visionael's leadership in the global network asset management and security markets

PALO ALTO, Calif. - April 26, 2005 - Visionael Corporation, a leading provider of security and network management solutions, today announced strategic additions to its management team and board of directors. The new management team will drive the company's vision of converging network and security management for companies, governments and service providers engaged in network transformation. Joining the Visionael team are:

  • Warren Bell, vice president of worldwide sales
  • Laurence Malroux, general manager, EMEA and APAC
  • Christopher Thompson, vice president of products

"Visionael's customers are dependent on their networks to power their competitive advantages. Service outages, security breaches and network performance issues impact their business and their bottom line," said Craig Nichols, president and chief executive officer of Visionael. "We are focused on delivering solutions that assure the performance of customers' networks, particularly during network transformations, and we have recruited the best team to accelerate Visionael's business in North America and Europe."

In the last twelve months, Visionael saw revenue growth that exceeded 20 percent from more than 20 new customers throughout North America and Europe. Much of this dramatic increase is being driven by network transformations as customers shift from legacy networks to newer gigabit and 10 gigabit switched-Ethernet technologies and bolster their networks to support VoIP applications. During these transformations, customers depend on Visionael to reduce the risk of technology deployment and to prevent the exploit of security vulnerabilities.

About the New Team
Warren Bell, vice president of worldwide sales, has joined Visionael to manage the company's worldwide direct sales and channel development activities. He has been leading sales growth for high-technology companies throughout Canada and the United States including BackWeb, Remedy Corporation, Altos, Software Publishing Corporation and Seagate Software. Bell's 20-plus years of experience in sales, business development and executive management will help drive Visionael's worldwide growth initiatives. Prior to Visionael, he was vice president of sales at Collation Inc. He studied computer science at York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

To support Visionael's worldwide sales and channel growth priorities, Laurence Malroux has joined Visionael as general manager for EMEA and APAC regions. She will lead the company's direct and indirect sales channels in Europe and the Asia Pacific region. Malroux brings to Visionael more than 15 years of experience in European IT business development and in assisting high tech start-ups and corporations with direct and indirect sales, positioning and marketing issues. Malroux joined Visionael from Meteor, and prior to that held various international sales management positions at EDS, IBM, Gemin/Mega and Nat Systems.

Christopher Thompson, vice president of products, directs Visionael's worldwide product management and marketing activities. Thompson has been active in the networking industry since 1987 and brings a strong understanding and expertise of the network security and management market from prior positions with Gartner Group, Network Associates and Network General. Thompson's industry expertise will help enable Visionael to create best-of-breed solutions that assure customers' network viability. Thompson has a bachelor's degree in macroeconomics and a master's degree in business administration from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

In addition, the company recently expanded its board of directors by appointing Joseph Prang, chairman and chief executive officer of Conformia, to the Board. Prang's appointment brings Visionael expert advice in product strategy, business development, sales, marketing and operations. Prang also serves on the board of directors of Metreo Inc., Cardonet Inc. and Trados Inc., and has mentored multiple enterprise software companies including Epic Design, Agile Software, Rightworks and SupplyBase.
