Visionael Delivers IBM Tivoli Netcool Ready Solution
New module combines deep discovery and monitoring to enable faster deployments, lower operational costs
Palo Alto, Calif. - October 16, 2006 -- Visionael Corp., a leading provider of network inventory and IP network service automation software, today announced that its Network Resource Manager (NRM) module has been certified as an IBM Tivoli Netcool® Ready™ solution.
Today's network management teams are under pressure to work quickly and efficiently to resolve issues and deploy new services. Visionael's integration with the Tivoli Netcool product offers enterprises and service providers a comprehensive approach to reduce the complexity of their IT environments, lower operational costs and address compliance issues.
The integrated module enables Visionael's Network Resource Manager, at the core of Visionael's new larger Service Automation Suite, to automatically populate its repository with information from the Tivoli Netcool database the moment network changes occur. When a device is added, for example, the user may proceed with a deep Visionael discovery of that device. This ensures that inventory records are complete and updated in real time.
"Combining Visionael's repository-based solutions and IBM's best-of-breed products gives our mutual customers a more effective means for handling the complexities of today's networks," said Scott Kelly, co-founder, Visionael. "Together, we're dramatically improving quality-of-service and enhancing the ability to capture and update changes to the real-world network."
The integration module also functions bi-directionally to enable Tivoli Netcool users to view detailed Visionael inventory information about device status from the Tivoli Netcool interface. Key pieces of information can automatically be imported from NRM out-of-the-box and include specifications such as device name, type, location and connectivity.
Visionael's new NRM module delivers three key benefits:
- Faster Time to Problem Resolution: By presenting complete information from either interface — rather than searching for information scattered across the enterprise - users can quickly determine the cause of network problems and resolve them.
- More Accurate Network Design: Network engineers need to know the current device status inside their designs. If the designs include elements that are experiencing problems, the designer is better able to ensure network stability prior to making a network change.
- More Effective Network Monitoring: Visionael NRM enables users to gain in-depth insight about particular network devices, from the physical location of the device to connectivity information. This level of detail is critical when resolving or forecasting network performance issues.
