Technology to Speed Delivery of Converged Telecommunications Services PALO ALTO, Calif. - January 10, 2005 - Visionael Corporation, a leading provider of security and network management solutions, today announced that Alpheus Communications, formerly El Paso Global Networks, has expanded its deployment of the Visionael Network Resource Management (NRM) platform. This expansion is the result of Alpheus' efforts in implementing advanced solutions for telecommunications infrastructure management and automated service provisioning. Alpheus uses the Visionael NRM solution to manage, maintain and provision the company's Texas-based optical network. A leading provider of telecommunications services — from DS-1 to OC-192, gigabit ethernet with flexible bandwidth and managed wavelengths — Alpheus recognized the need for effective management of its telecommunications infrastructure and for streamlining and automating its service provisioning processes. Alpheus depends on Visionael's NRM solution to provide the central information repository for network infrastructure, including devices, cables and circuits. NRM tracks the status and usage of each network device and models all transport facilities, circuits, and the telecommunications services Alpheus provides to its customers. Alpheus' IT staff has taken advantage of NRM's open architecture, extensibility and application programming interfaces (APIs) in developing end-to-end provisioning solutions that access and update the Visionael NRM infrastructure repository. Using NRM's collaborative architecture, Alpheus manages all aspects of the network infrastructure lifecycle, including design, implementation, test and ongoing network operations. Alpheus then created NRM provisioning solutions that integrate and automate service delivery, from customer orders through service design to activation.
